Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Industrials and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 4.13% or 37.13 points to trade at 937.00 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) added 3.68% or 12.34 points to end at 348.00 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB) was up 3.60% or 6.30 points to 181.41 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which lost 1.25% or 0.20 points to trade at 15.80 in late trade. GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT) declined 1.14% or 0.370 points to end at 32.080 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) shed 0.92% or 1.14 points to 122.45.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 168 to 107 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 2.30 to $1202.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.16% or 2.08 to hit $67.92 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.92% or 2.12 to trade at $74.75 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.17% to 18.7347, while EUR/MXN fell 0.95% to 21.7252.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 95.00.
