  • Enrich the conversation
  • Stay focused and on track. Only post material that’s relevant to the topic being discussed.
  • Be respectful. Even negative opinions can be framed positively and diplomatically.
  •  Use standard writing style. Include punctuation and upper and lower cases.
  • NOTE: Spam and/or promotional messages and links within a comment will be removed
  • Avoid profanity, slander or personal attacks directed at an author or another user.
  • Don’t Monopolize the Conversation. We appreciate passion and conviction, but we also believe strongly in giving everyone a chance to air their thoughts. The Sino and US governments have come a trade compromise last weekend, based on which China will buy much more products from the US in the coming years. As it is obvious that China does not have any rapid increase in its actual demands, China will simply buy less from the other countries (e.g. Australia and New Zealand, etc.) to fulfil its agreement with the US. This will definitely heavily weigh on the AUD.

Just a thought, would China yielding to US trading demands and taking a softer stance on trade tariffs negatively impact its trade balance and thus hurt its ability to pay the premium on resources? And thus would that not hurt AUD in return?

AU unemployment rate rises to 5.5 pct as more people look for work.. no wage growth to drive spending and inflation, thus no rate rise...

High AUD is bad for resource exports, with demand from China already slowing and and iron ore and copper prices down, high household debt and record housing unaffordability, there is no reason to raise rates any time soon...

it looks as though you have no support in the AUD going higher even with all the factors you have pointed out, Im guessing you believe it is going to eventually drop?
