Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Textile and Rubber sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.16% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Y.C.C. (TW:1339), which rose 10.00% or 5.50 points to trade at 60.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Entie Bank (TW:2849) added 9.88% or 1.60 points to end at 17.80 and Green Energy (TW:3519) was up 9.82% or 2.15 points to 24.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nuvoton (TW:4919), which fell 9.90% or 3.85 points to trade at 35.05 at the close. J Touch (TW:3584) declined 8.37% or 0.43 points to end at 4.71 and Htc Corp (TW:2498) was down 8.09% or 6.30 points to 71.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 492 to 346 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Entie Bank (TW:2849) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.88% or 1.60 to 17.80. Shares in J Touch (TW:3584) fell to all time lows; falling 8.37% or 0.43 to 4.71.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.71% or 0.27 to $37.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.58% or 0.23 to hit $40.52 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.30% or 3.20 to trade at $1073.30 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.49% to 32.882, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.1970.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 97.54.
