Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 3.80%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR4), which rose 10.68% or 0.75 points to trade at 7.77 at the close. Meanwhile, Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) added 10.35% or 0.800 points to end at 8.530 and Smiles ON (SA:SMLE3) was up 10.00% or 3.05 points to 33.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5), which fell 3.27% or 0.64 points to trade at 18.92 at the close. Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) declined 2.64% or 1.47 points to end at 54.23 and Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) was down 0.20% or 0.05 points to 25.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 205 to 98 and 11 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.89% to 51.42.
Gold for December delivery was up 2.12% or 23.60 to $1137.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.98% or 0.89 to hit $45.62 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 2.31% or 2.80 to trade at $123.83 .
USD/BRL was down 1.86% to 3.9359, while EUR/BRL fell 1.66% to 4.4147.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 96.04.
