Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Optoelectronic, Textile and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912), which rose 10.00% or 17.50 points to trade at 192.50 at the close. Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424) added 9.98% or 2.60 points to end at 28.65 and Loop Telecommunication International Inc (TW:3025) was up 9.97% or 1.75 points to 19.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Abocom Systems Inc (TW:2444), which lost 9.84% or 1.80 points to trade at 16.50 in late trade. King Core Electronics Inc (TW:6155) declined 5.91% or 1.70 points to end at 27.05 and San Chih Semiconductor Inc Ltd (TW:3579) shed 4.76% or 0.80 points to 16.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 526 to 280 and 108 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.01% or 0.01 to $67.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.10% or 0.08 to hit $77.64 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 3.50 to trade at $1298.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.46% to 29.849, while TWD/CNY fell 0.09% to 0.2140.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 94.08.
