Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 1.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which rose 5.38% or 37.8 points to trade at 740.0 at the close. MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) added 1.69% or 9.60 points to end at 578.80 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) was up 1.30% or 34.0 points to 2657.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sberbank Rossii PAO (MCX:SBER), which lost 4.51% or 8.95 points to trade at 189.35 in late trade. Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX:SBER_p) declined 3.28% or 5.47 points to end at 161.33 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) shed 3.11% or 0.0249 points to 0.7770.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 152 to 54 and 24 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.91% to 28.290.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.07% or 0.80 to $1202.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.17% or 1.66 to hit $74.75 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.45% or 1.25 to trade at $85.04 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.67% to 66.9714, while EUR/RUB rose 1.78% to 77.0170.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 95.47.
