Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which rose 2.75% or 0.225 points to trade at 8.420 at the close. Magnit (MCX:MGNT) added 2.01% or 70.0 points to end at 3560.0 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) was up 1.82% or 10.50 points to 589.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which lost 3.90% or 23.2 points to trade at 572.0 in late trade. Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) declined 2.55% or 27.00 points to end at 1030.00 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) shed 2.30% or 1.130 points to 47.935.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 100 and 19 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.57% to 27.510.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.64% or 7.80 to $1229.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.22% or 0.16 to hit $71.50 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $80.47 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.68% to 65.6660, while EUR/RUB fell 0.43% to 76.1000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 94.69.
