Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Power, Mining and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which rose 3.45% or 0.300 points to trade at 9.000 at the close. United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) added 1.53% or 0.430 points to end at 28.490 and Surgutneftegaz PAO (MCX:SNGS) was up 1.37% or 0.375 points to 27.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR), which lost 3.00% or 44.5 points to trade at 1437.0 in late trade. FSK EES (MCX:FEES) declined 2.56% or 0.0043 points to end at 0.1618 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) shed 2.05% or 1.070 points to 51.115.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 114 to 100 and 17 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.32% to 25.410.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.21% or 2.50 to $1193.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.97% or 1.44 to hit $74.69 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.90% or 1.57 to trade at $84.30 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.40% to 65.2852, while EUR/RUB fell 0.71% to 75.5442.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 94.94.
