Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 1.29% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 3.31% or 10.69 points to trade at 333.31 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 1.53% or 0.30 points to end at 19.92 and Grupo Cementos De Chihuahua (MX:GCC) was up 1.33% or 1.520 points to 115.860 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which lost 4.12% or 1.290 points to trade at 30.020 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) declined 3.75% or 13.77 points to end at 353.60 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) shed 3.64% or 4.680 points to 123.780.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 227 to 72 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 2.86% or 34.10 to $1227.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.18% or 2.33 to hit $70.84 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 3.53% or 2.93 to trade at $80.16 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.84% to 18.9950, while EUR/MXN fell 0.18% to 22.0302.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 94.66.
