Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.84% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 2.23% or 1.380 points to trade at 63.270 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) added 2.14% or 0.660 points to end at 31.450 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 1.97% or 2.61 points to 135.07 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO), which lost 6.84% or 4.03 points to trade at 54.86 in late trade. Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) declined 4.95% or 0.77 points to end at 14.77 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) shed 3.44% or 0.450 points to 12.620.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 169 to 117 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.03% or 0.40 to $1311.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $63.70 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $67.59 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.01% to 18.7626, while EUR/MXN fell 0.00% to 22.9732.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 90.01.
