Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.41% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 6.40% or 0.750 points to trade at 12.470 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) added 4.63% or 0.420 points to end at 9.490 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) was up 4.47% or 1.100 points to 25.720 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA), which lost 3.41% or 6.16 points to trade at 174.30 in late trade. BanRegio Grupo Financiero SAB de CV (MX:RA) declined 2.89% or 2.57 points to end at 86.31 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) shed 2.65% or 3.37 points to 123.99.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 174 to 102 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.37% or 4.60 to $1223.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 7.71% or 4.21 to hit $50.42 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 5.40% or 3.38 to trade at $59.22 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.44% to 20.4013, while EUR/MXN fell 0.18% to 23.1208.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 96.847.
