Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Industrials and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO), which rose 3.24% or 2.970 points to trade at 94.510 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 2.97% or 9.54 points to end at 330.27 and Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) was up 1.80% or 0.520 points to 29.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which lost 5.37% or 3.590 points to trade at 63.230 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 2.69% or 0.680 points to end at 24.600 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) shed 2.39% or 20.04 points to 820.17.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 186 to 97 and 19 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.39% or 4.70 to $1205.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.36% or 0.25 to hit $68.52 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.18 to trade at $77.91 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.18% to 18.8543, while EUR/MXN rose 0.32% to 22.0306.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 94.07.
