Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 2.55% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which rose 9.55% or 1.86 points to trade at 21.33 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) added 1.96% or 1.210 points to end at 63.050 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was up 0.49% or 0.220 points to 45.050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which lost 9.29% or 10.880 points to trade at 106.180 in late trade. America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) declined 6.93% or 1.260 points to end at 16.930 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) shed 5.75% or 1.290 points to 21.130.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 176 to 45 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.31 to $1278.61 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.46% or 0.24 to hit $52.23 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.21% or 0.12 to trade at $58.45 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.95% to 19.0461, while EUR/MXN fell 0.58% to 22.4892.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 93.58.
