Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 4.17% or 0.860 points to trade at 21.470 at the close. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 1.98% or 0.830 points to end at 42.740 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 1.95% or 0.730 points to 38.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 2.24% or 0.530 points to trade at 23.160 in late trade. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 2.18% or 16.92 points to end at 757.50 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) shed 1.90% or 0.440 points to 22.670.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 159 to 87 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.91% or 11.50 to $1278.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.08% or 0.52 to hit $47.84 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.03% or 0.52 to trade at $50.11 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.30% to 18.6992, while EUR/MXN rose 0.93% to 21.0968.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 96.62.
