Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Financial Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 4.84% or 1.090 points to trade at 23.600 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 3.07% or 25.95 points to end at 870.63 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 2.25% or 0.74 points to 33.69 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 2.64% or 11.11 points to trade at 410.00 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) declined 2.02% or 7.37 points to end at 356.81 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) shed 1.69% or 0.32 points to 18.57.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 132 to 124 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.28% or 3.59 to $1267.81 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.48% or 0.22 to hit $46.05 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.25% or 0.12 to trade at $48.27 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.22% to 18.1277, while EUR/MXN fell 0.19% to 20.3061.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 97.16.
