Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services, Industrials and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which rose 4.66% or 4.340 points to trade at 97.490 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) added 3.32% or 0.680 points to end at 21.140 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 3.30% or 1.570 points to 49.130 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which lost 4.23% or 0.78 points to trade at 17.66 in late trade. Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) declined 3.44% or 0.880 points to end at 24.730 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) shed 3.19% or 0.400 points to 12.130.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 193 to 101 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.83% or 10.20 to $1236.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.30% or 2.19 to hit $53.12 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 4.05% or 2.41 to trade at $61.87 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.21% to 20.3486, while EUR/MXN rose 0.03% to 23.0955.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 96.915.
