Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL), which rose 3.27% or 0.540 points to trade at 17.070 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) added 2.14% or 0.500 points to end at 23.850 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) was up 2.11% or 0.32 points to 15.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which lost 2.47% or 0.40 points to trade at 15.82 in late trade. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 2.38% or 0.850 points to end at 34.790 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) shed 2.35% or 10.09 points to 419.09.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 157 to 104 and 18 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.91% or 12.20 to $1327.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.33% or 0.21 to hit $63.76 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $69.13 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.02% to 18.6052, while EUR/MXN rose 0.02% to 22.7773.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 90.31.
