Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB), which rose 3.16% or 11.11 points to trade at 362.55 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 2.31% or 7.33 points to end at 325.30 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was up 1.86% or 0.460 points to 25.140 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which lost 2.63% or 0.42 points to trade at 15.54 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 2.26% or 0.420 points to end at 18.130 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) shed 2.07% or 17.85 points to 844.86.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 134 to 128 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.37% or 4.40 to $1205.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.16% or 0.80 to hit $67.92 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.58 to trade at $76.69 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.67% to 19.2133, while EUR/MXN fell 0.68% to 22.3429.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 94.98.
