Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Industrials and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX), which rose 2.96% or 1.340 points to trade at 46.640 at the close. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) added 2.37% or 4.41 points to end at 190.78 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 2.19% or 0.750 points to 34.950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which lost 4.41% or 1.520 points to trade at 32.930 in late trade. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) declined 2.80% or 0.590 points to end at 20.450 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) shed 1.84% or 0.290 points to 15.480.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 180 to 150 and 20 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.67% or 9.00 to $1344.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.43% or 0.28 to hit $64.78 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $68.85 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.04% to 18.5936, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 23.0830.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 88.95.
