Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Software and Construction sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Food & Beverages, Media and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.09%, while the MDAX index fell 0.01%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Linde AG O.N. (DE:LING), which rose 2.29% or 4.10 points to trade at 183.05 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) added 1.20% or 0.270 points to end at 22.735 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) was up 0.93% or 0.240 points to 25.960 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG), which lost 1.64% or 0.190 points to trade at 11.425 in late trade. Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) declined 1.61% or 0.485 points to end at 29.650 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) shed 1.54% or 0.57 points to 36.88.
The top performers on the MDAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) which rose 2.14% to 138.60, Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was up 1.80% to settle at 67.28 and Fielmann AG (DE:FIEG) which gained 1.64% to close at 74.400.
The worst performers were Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was down 2.47% to 56.820 in late trade, LEG Immobilien AG (DE:LEGn) which lost 1.92% to settle at 86.190 and RTL Group SA (DE:RRTL) which was down 1.53% to 63.700 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Software AG (DE:SOWG) which rose 4.85% to 44.000, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was up 3.39% to settle at 10.995 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which gained 2.12% to close at 37.280.
The worst performers were S&T AG (F:SANT1) which was down 3.33% to 16.719 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which lost 2.24% to settle at 47.920 and Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which was down 1.65% to 5.555 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 402 to 351 and 34 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.87% to 12.39.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.12% or 1.49 to $1281.99 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $51.88 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.52% or 0.30 to trade at $57.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1760, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8909.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.69.
