Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Retail and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.21%, while the MDAX index lost 0.91%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn), which rose 1.23% or 0.106 points to trade at 8.746 at the close. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) added 0.98% or 0.660 points to end at 68.200 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was up 0.76% or 0.135 points to 17.825 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which lost 3.88% or 0.720 points to trade at 17.845 in late trade. Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) declined 2.82% or 4.20 points to end at 144.55 and Covestro AG (DE:1COV) shed 2.49% or 1.500 points to 58.660.
The top performers on the MDAX were Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which rose 17.10% to 106.63, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was up 2.85% to settle at 37.16 and Uniper SE (DE:UN01) which gained 2.16% to close at 26.000.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 5.05% to 80.180 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which lost 4.15% to settle at 111.000 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which was down 3.90% to 35.94 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which rose 7.33% to 53.450, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which was up 7.14% to settle at 120.00 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which gained 1.84% to close at 21.080.
The worst performers were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was down 9.02% to 78.70 in late trade, RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which lost 6.35% to settle at 14.150 and Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:AIXGn) which was down 6.04% to 10.8950 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 402 to 307 and 70 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.25% to 19.69.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.20 to $1231.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.32% or 0.20 to hit $63.34 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.31 to trade at $73.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1395, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8753.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 96.23.
