Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Consumption and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 1.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3), which rose 1.22% or 0.08 points to trade at 6.66 at the close. Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3) added 1.15% or 0.38 points to end at 33.38 and Ambev SA (SA:ABEV3) was up 1.09% or 0.18 points to 16.64 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Magazine Luiza SA (SA:MGLU3), which lost 8.36% or 14.46 points to trade at 158.50 in late trade. Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) declined 5.54% or 0.68 points to end at 11.60 and EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) shed 4.07% or 0.39 points to 9.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 233 to 215 and 35 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.02% to 39.97.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.13% or 1.60 to $1228.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.43% or 0.90 to hit $62.20 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 3.07% or 3.60 to trade at $113.50 .
USD/BRL was up 0.94% to 3.7612, while EUR/BRL rose 1.02% to 4.2943.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.00% at 96.09.
