Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumption, Public Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3), which rose 4.29% or 2.08 points to trade at 50.54 at the close. EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) added 3.16% or 0.37 points to end at 12.08 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3) was up 2.95% or 0.19 points to 6.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3), which lost 5.72% or 1.20 points to trade at 19.78 in late trade. Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) declined 3.68% or 1.19 points to end at 31.14 and Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) shed 3.50% or 0.35 points to 9.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 202 to 166 and 40 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.10% to 28.95.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.46 to $1294.26 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.20% or 0.10 to hit $51.02 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 3.27% or 4.28 to trade at $126.67 .
USD/BRL was up 0.01% to 3.1719, while EUR/BRL rose 0.03% to 3.7622.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 92.79.
