Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Lojas Renner SA (SA:LREN3), which rose 5.43% or 1.75 points to trade at 34.00 at the close. CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA:CMIG4) added 4.44% or 0.34 points to end at 7.99 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) was up 3.68% or 0.39 points to 10.98 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3), which lost 3.22% or 0.58 points to trade at 17.41 in late trade. Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) declined 3.17% or 2.07 points to end at 63.31 and Viavarejo Unt (SA:VVAR11) shed 2.38% or 0.65 points to 26.66.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 209 to 185 and 29 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.95% to 27.96.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.21% or 2.80 to $1315.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.93% or 1.32 to hit $69.75 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 1.05% or 1.31 to trade at $122.97 .
USD/BRL was down 0.08% to 3.5247, while EUR/BRL fell 0.36% to 4.2144.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 92.44.
