Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Consumption and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 3.72% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Telefonica Brasil SA (SA:VIVT4), which rose 14.36% or 5.41 points to trade at 43.09 at the close. B2W Cia Digital (SA:BTOW3) added 9.39% or 3.03 points to end at 35.31 and Ultrapar Participacoes SA (SA:UGPA3) was up 8.68% or 3.62 points to 45.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3), which lost 3.53% or 1.34 points to trade at 36.58 in late trade. Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado (SA:SBSP3) declined 2.08% or 0.59 points to end at 27.71 and Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5) shed 1.47% or 0.73 points to 48.82.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 320 to 144 and 26 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.47% to 41.67.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.58% or 7.10 to $1225.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.27% or 0.85 to hit $66.19 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.58% or 1.80 to trade at $112.45 .
USD/BRL was down 0.71% to 3.6950, while EUR/BRL fell 0.96% to 4.1922.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 96.76.
