Aug 22 (Reuters) - Australian shares are set to open lower on Wednesday as fears of a global deceleration is expected to weigh on investors despite recent signs of economic stimulus from major economies.
The local share price index futures YAPcm1 fell 0.7%, a 91-point discount to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index .AXJO close. The benchmark rose 1.2% on Tuesday.
New Zealand's benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index .NZ50 fell 1.4% to 10,651.07 in early trade.
