Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 3.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which rose 20.37% or 0.55 points to trade at 3.25 at the close. Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) added 14.29% or 0.21 points to end at 1.68 and Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3) was up 11.53% or 2.16 points to 20.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3), which lost 6.55% or 1.98 points to trade at 28.25 in late trade. Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11) declined 5.71% or 1.00 points to end at 16.50 and JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) shed 5.69% or 0.58 points to 9.62.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 205 to 90 and 20 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.41% to 53.93.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.36% or 4.50 to $1242.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 6.15% or 2.29 to hit $39.55 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract rose 0.58% or 0.69 to trade at $120.47 .
USD/BRL was down 2.59% to 3.5920, while EUR/BRL fell 2.40% to 4.0940.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 94.23.
