United Arab Emirates stocks lower at close of trade; DFM General down 1.28%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Sunday, as losses in the Transport, Banking and Finance & Investment sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 1.28%, while the ADX General index declined 0.37%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA), which rose 1.22% or 0.04 points to trade at 3.31 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) added 0.78% or 0.010 points to end at 1.300 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) was up 0.67% or 0.010 points to 1.500 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which fell 4.56% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.419 at the close. Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) declined 3.45% or 0.022 points to end at 0.615 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was down 3.21% or 0.080 points to 2.410.

The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which rose 11.11% to 3.00, National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was up 9.41% to settle at 5.00 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which gained 5.26% to close at 0.400.

The worst performers were Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which was down 8.47% to 1.08 in late trade, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which lost 5.08% to settle at 0.560 and Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which was down 4.41% to 1.30 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 24 to 3; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 20 fell and 9 advanced, while 3 ended unchanged.

Shares in Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) rose to all time highs; rising 0.78% or 0.010 to 1.300.

Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.82% or 0.40 to $48.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.17% or 0.65 to hit $54.62 a barrel, while the August Gold contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $1086.00 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.07% to 4.0317.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 97.34.
