Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Software and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Technology, Media and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.18%, while the MDAX index fell 0.21%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 1.50% or 0.230 points to trade at 15.565 at the close. Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (DE:LHAG) added 1.26% or 0.200 points to end at 16.100 and Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) was up 1.23% or 2.20 points to 180.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which lost 1.46% or 0.270 points to trade at 18.250 in late trade. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) declined 1.43% or 1.300 points to end at 89.470 and Linde AG O.N. (DE:LING) shed 1.02% or 1.60 points to 155.85.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which rose 1.67% to 63.800, Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was up 1.63% to settle at 51.000 and Innogy SE (DE:IGY) which gained 1.62% to close at 36.175.
The worst performers were CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which was down 1.55% to 35.610 in late trade, Metro AG ST O.N. (DE:MEOG) which lost 1.44% to settle at 29.130 and GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which was down 1.40% to 38.105 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Software AG O.N. (DE:SOWG) which rose 7.93% to 38.880, Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which was up 4.65% to settle at 36.60 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which gained 1.84% to close at 13.535.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 2.86% to 23.605 in late trade, Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which lost 2.51% to settle at 11.065 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 1.68% to 4.438 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 376 to 364 and 25 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.15% to 21.34.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.25% or 3.20 to $1287.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.33% or 1.18 to hit $49.53 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.09% or 1.11 to trade at $51.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.0692, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8357.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 99.86.
