Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.21% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB), which rose 4.28% or 10.400 points to trade at 253.300 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 1.89% or 8.040 points to end at 433.970 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 1.28% or 0.410 points to 32.440 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which lost 3.37% or 0.510 points to trade at 14.610 in late trade. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 3.20% or 1.730 points to end at 52.260 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) shed 2.71% or 3.160 points to 113.260.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 100 to 53 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.32% or 4.25 to $1321.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.66% or 1.23 to hit $45.06 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.32% or 1.12 to trade at $47.20 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.33% to 19.0613, while EUR/MXN rose 1.21% to 21.3889.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.46% at 95.56.
