Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which rose 2.30% or 240.0 points to trade at 10690.0 at the close. Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) added 1.30% or 2.20 points to end at 171.90 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) was up 1.26% or 0.0108 points to 0.8693 in late trade.
Biggest losers included FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which lost 2.32% or 0.0037 points to trade at 0.1540 in late trade. GidroOGK-011D (MCX:HYDR) declined 2.02% or 0.0140 points to end at 0.6801 and Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya OAO (MCX:TRMK) shed 2.00% or 0.90 points to 44.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 119 to 97 and 33 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.83% to 26.370.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.72% or 23.55 to $1343.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.83% or 0.35 to hit $41.58 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.77% or 0.34 to trade at $43.95 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.25% to 65.6144, while EUR/RUB fell 0.85% to 72.719.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 96.22.
