Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Financial Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 2.72% or 20.93 points to trade at 791.00 at the close. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) added 2.39% or 0.730 points to end at 31.230 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was up 1.80% or 3.44 points to 194.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 2.93% or 12.44 points to trade at 412.27 in late trade. El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) declined 1.51% or 2.16 points to end at 140.86 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) shed 1.40% or 0.46 points to 32.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 130 to 119 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.58% or 7.52 to $1289.98 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 5.02% or 2.42 to hit $45.77 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 3.91% or 1.96 to trade at $48.16 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.04% to 18.2308, while EUR/MXN fell 0.15% to 20.5374.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 96.64.
