Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Transport and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.98% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD), which rose 6.75% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.740 at the close. Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) added 4.93% or 0.320 points to end at 6.810 and Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) was up 4.92% or 0.530 points to 11.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which lost 2.50% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.390 in late trade. Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) declined 2.15% or 0.94 points to end at 42.74 and Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) shed 1.58% or 0.14 points to 8.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 204 to 144 and 60 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.29% or 3.66 to $1250.56 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.70% or 0.31 to hit $44.55 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.83% or 0.39 to trade at $47.31 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.26% to 3.5175, while EUR/TRY fell 0.04% to 3.9990.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 95.81.
