Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Chemicals and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.80%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.00%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG), which rose 3.13% or 2.560 points to trade at 84.440 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) added 2.77% or 2.330 points to end at 86.590 and Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (DE:LHAG) was up 2.06% or 0.375 points to 18.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which lost 1.30% or 0.260 points to trade at 19.730 in late trade. Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) declined 0.83% or 0.780 points to end at 92.770 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) shed 0.33% or 0.029 points to 8.797.
The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which rose 3.56% to 70.470, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was up 3.32% to settle at 23.320 and Airbus Group SE (F:AIRG) which gained 2.32% to close at 75.426.
The worst performers were Uniper SE (DE:UN01) which was down 3.31% to 17.220 in late trade, Innogy SE (DE:IGY) which lost 1.34% to settle at 35.720 and Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which was down 0.78% to 45.05 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 3.99% to 86.290, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was up 3.20% to settle at 13.540 and Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which gained 2.24% to close at 130.25.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 2.02% to 27.585 in late trade, S&T AG (F:SANT1) which lost 0.96% to settle at 13.470 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was down 0.80% to 53.290 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 464 to 273 and 25 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.31% to 12.30.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.66% or 8.43 to $1271.07 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.83% or 0.38 to hit $46.02 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.00% or 0.48 to trade at $48.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1194, while EUR/GBP rose 0.68% to 0.8793.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 97.27.
