Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Auto, Textile and Other sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ching Feng Home Fashions Co Ltd (TW:9935), which rose 9.92% or 0.90 points to trade at 9.97 at the close. Li Cheng Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:4426) added 9.91% or 7.30 points to end at 81.00 and Pal Wonn Taiwan Co Ltd (TW:2429) was up 9.89% or 1.30 points to 14.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ta Jiang Co Ltd (TW:1453), which lost 6.83% or 0.65 points to trade at 8.86 in late trade. Long Chen Paper Co Ltd (TW:1909) declined 5.68% or 1.90 points to end at 31.55 and FocalTech Systems Co Ltd (TW:3545) shed 4.87% or 1.75 points to 34.15.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 382 to 354 and 140 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.48% or 0.22 to $46.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.54% or 0.26 to hit $48.55 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.51 to trade at $1268.39 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.15% to 30.214, while TWD/CNY fell 0.13% to 0.2243.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 97.16.
