Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Software and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Financial Services and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.11% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index declined 0.36%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn), which rose 4.35% or 1.005 points to trade at 24.115 at the close. Meanwhile, Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) added 2.23% or 1.110 points to end at 50.880 and Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (DE:LHAG) was up 2.11% or 0.285 points to 13.805 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which fell 3.63% or 0.415 points to trade at 11.030 at the close. Deutsche Boerse NA O.N. (DE:DB1Gn) declined 2.09% or 1.760 points to end at 82.450 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) was down 1.53% or 1.270 points to 81.860.
The top performers on the MDAX were Gerry Weber Internat.O.N. (DE:GWIG) which rose 3.44% to 15.800, Duerr AG O.N. (DE:DUEG) which was up 2.79% to settle at 78.900 and Bilfinger SE O.N. (DE:GBFG) which gained 2.64% to close at 41.955.
The worst performers were Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO O.N. (DE:FPEG_p) which was down 6.35% to 41.990 in late trade, Deutsche Euroshop AG O.N. (DE:DEQGn) which lost 2.04% to settle at 42.955 and Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which was down 1.97% to 34.300 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were QSC AG NA O.N. (DE:QSCG) which rose 4.83% to 1.735, Kontron AG O.N. (DE:KBCG) which was up 3.57% to settle at 3.339 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which gained 3.06% to close at 36.000.
The worst performers were Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which was down 7.61% to 104.400 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which lost 2.49% to settle at 25.850 and Jenoptik AG O.N. (DE:JENG) which was down 2.13% to 14.680 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 375 to 314 and 30 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.76% to 19.90.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.56% or 17.70 to $1118.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.69% or 1.24 to hit $47.38 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.31% or 1.12 to trade at $49.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.0950, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.7106.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 97.40.
