Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Power and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Unipro (MCX:UPRO), which rose 4.08% or 0.0980 points to trade at 2.4980 at the close. ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) added 3.58% or 45.0 points to end at 1302.0 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) was up 3.31% or 0.450 points to 14.050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya OAO (MCX:TRMK), which lost 4.31% or 3.02 points to trade at 66.97 in late trade. NMTP (MCX:NMTP) declined 4.17% or 0.3450 points to end at 7.9200 and NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) shed 2.40% or 18.0 points to 733.5.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 138 to 83 and 14 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 1.32% to 17.600.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.17% or 2.27 to $1327.03 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.32% or 0.16 to hit $49.73 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $55.45 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.10% to 57.5550, while EUR/RUB rose 0.48% to 68.8150.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 91.80.
