Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Transport, Basic Metals and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA), which rose 6.57% or 0.46 points to trade at 7.46 at the close. Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL) added 4.90% or 0.320 points to end at 6.850 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was up 3.97% or 0.300 points to 7.860 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 3.57% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.270 in late trade. Metro Holding (IS:METRO) declined 2.91% or 0.030 points to end at 1.000 and Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) shed 2.59% or 0.110 points to 4.130.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 175 to 158 and 75 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.61% or 7.15 to $1165.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.04% or 0.53 to hit $51.37 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.17 to trade at $54.06 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.27% to 3.4864, while EUR/TRY rose 0.51% to 3.6761.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.55% at 101.67.
