Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.70% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP (LS:EDP), which rose 0.40% or 0.0130 points to trade at 3.2290 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) added 0.40% or 0.0270 points to end at 6.8500 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was up 0.20% or 0.002 points to 1.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 1.89% or 0.3150 points to trade at 16.3350 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.88% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.3140 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 1.68% or 0.0038 points to 0.2220.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.15% or 0.60 to $51.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.41% or 1.63 to hit $46.24 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.11% or 14.45 to trade at $1312.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.1976, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.9262.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 92.18.
