Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Glass and Biotech & Medical Care sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were U-Tech (TW:3050), which rose 6.93% or 0.80 points to trade at 12.35 at the close. Anderson (TW:1528) added 6.44% or 0.65 points to end at 10.75 and Htc Corp (TW:2498) was up 5.69% or 5.10 points to 94.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included L&K Eng (TW:6139), which lost 9.98% or 2.85 points to trade at 25.70 in late trade. Cci (TW:6230) declined 9.97% or 16.50 points to end at 149.00 and Rexon Indu (TW:1515) shed 9.94% or 1.55 points to 14.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 672 to 126 and 54 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.37% or 0.19 to $51.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.36% or 0.19 to hit $52.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.23% or 2.85 to trade at $1263.25 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.49% to 31.628, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2127.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 97.06.
