Investing.com - U.S. stock futures were trading slightly lower in early APAC deals on Monday, as investors look ahead to a series of key economic reports later in the week, while the Federal Reserve’s planned interest rate hikes and ongoing conflict in Ukraine continue to weigh on risk sentiment.
During Friday’s session, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 153.3 points or 0.44% to 34,861.25, the S&P 500 rose 22.88 points or 0.51% to 4,543.05 and the NASDAQ Composite eased 22.54 points or 0.16% to 14,169.3. For the week, the major benchmark indices added 0.5%, 1.81% and 2.19%, respectively.
Dow Jones Futures was down 0.09%, S&P 500 Futures eased 0.06% and Nasdaq 100 Futures ticked 0.02% lower.
Among stocks, major financial players moved higher on Friday amid rising bond yields. JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM) added 0.87%, Citizens Financial Group Inc (NYSE:CFG) gained 0.12%, Bank of America Corp (NYSE:BAC) added 1.53%, Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C) gained 0.57%, Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC) lifted 2.4%, Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) added 0.07% and Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS) gained 0.37%.
Technology finished mixed as Block Inc (NYSE:SQ) lost 3.5%, Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) added 0.69%, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) dipped 0.14%, Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:FB) gained 1.02%, Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) added 0.37%, Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) added 0.07% and NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) lost 1.63%.
EV makers fell, with Rivian Automotive Inc (NASDAQ:RIVN) down 5.14%, Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) easing 0.32% and Lucid Group Inc (NASDAQ:LCID) down 4.15%.
On the bond markets, United States 10-Year rates were at 34-month highs of 2.479%.
Ahead in the week, market participants will be looking toward the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey, ADP employment change data and Q4 GDP print on Wednesday, while nonfarm payrolls and unemployment rate data is set to be released on Friday. Several big companies are also scheduled to report their quarterly results this week, including BioNTech SE (NASDAQ:BNTX), Micron Technology Inc (NASDAQ:MU) and Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:WBA).
