Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Banking and Services sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Transport and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.17% to hit a new 3-month low, while the ADX General index gained 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM), which rose 0.88% or 0.010 points to trade at 1.150 at the close. Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) added 0.62% or 0.050 points to end at 8.150 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) was up 0.59% or 0.020 points to 3.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which lost 3.50% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.380 in late trade. DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) declined 2.67% or 0.017 points to end at 0.620 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) shed 1.69% or 0.030 points to 1.750.
The top performers on the ADX General were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which rose 2.38% to 0.430, Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which was up 2.12% to settle at 7.23 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 1.45% to close at 0.700.
The worst performers were Finance House (AD:FH) which was down 5.46% to 1.730 in late trade, Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which lost 3.12% to settle at 0.620 and Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was down 1.52% to 0.6500 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 9 and 13 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 7 fell and 6 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.28% or 0.16 to $56.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.29% or 0.18 to hit $62.40 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.38% or 4.87 to trade at $1280.17 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED fell 0.04% to 4.3074.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 94.02.
