Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Sunday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Services and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.62%, while the ADX General index lost 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 2.91% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.060 at the close. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) added 1.33% or 0.020 points to end at 1.520 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was up 0.98% or 0.009 points to 0.924 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which lost 2.98% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.630 in late trade. Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA) declined 2.47% or 0.070 points to end at 2.760 and Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) shed 2.44% or 0.040 points to 1.600.
The top performers on the ADX General were Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which rose 0.37% to 2.730, Fujairah Building Industries Co PSC (AD:FBI) which was unchanged 0.00% to settle at 1.55 and Emirates Ins C (AD:EIC) which unchanged 0.00% to close at 6.00.
The worst performers were Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which was down 9.57% to 1.040 in late trade, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which lost 8.05% to settle at 0.8000 and Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 5.24% to 2.530 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 9 and 6 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 18 fell and 1 advanced, while 9 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 3.67% or 1.70 to $44.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $46.48 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.23% or 3.15 to trade at $1341.55 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.21% to 4.1253.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 95.41.
