Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Metal Products & Machinery, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Teknosa Ic ve Dis Ticaret AS (IS:TKNSA), which rose 13.15% or 0.580 points to trade at 4.990 at the close. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) added 9.09% or 0.030 points to end at 0.360 and SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) was up 5.73% or 0.490 points to 9.040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO), which lost 9.96% or 6.95 points to trade at 62.80 in late trade. Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) declined 8.32% or 2.12 points to end at 23.36 and ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT) shed 6.62% or 0.310 points to 4.370.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 197 to 160 and 50 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.18% or 2.30 to $1268.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.16% or 0.11 to hit $68.47 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.41% or 1.06 to trade at $74.26 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.36% to 4.6942, while EUR/TRY rose 0.66% to 5.4925.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 94.01.
