Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Industrials and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Goltas Goller Bolgesi Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GOLTS), which rose 9.17% or 3.40 points to trade at 40.48 at the close. Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR) added 5.79% or 0.070 points to end at 1.280 and Turk Traktor ve Ziraat Makineleri AS (IS:TTRAK) was up 4.80% or 1.78 points to 38.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD), which lost 5.79% or 0.140 points to trade at 2.280 in late trade. Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) declined 5.11% or 0.400 points to end at 7.430 and Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) shed 3.79% or 0.78 points to 19.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 232 to 127 and 46 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.08% or 1.00 to $1251.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.96% or 1.03 to hit $51.58 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.17% or 0.72 to trade at $60.95 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.78% to 5.3440, while EUR/TRY rose 0.65% to 6.0777.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.69% at 97.137.
