Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Holdings & Investments and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.92% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL), which rose 5.29% or 0.200 points to trade at 3.980 at the close. Bizim Magazalari (IS:BIZIM) added 4.38% or 0.68 points to end at 16.20 and Adel Kalemcilik (IS:ADEL) was up 4.35% or 2.70 points to 64.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 4.35% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.220 in late trade. Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) declined 2.49% or 1.12 points to end at 43.92 and Metro Holding (IS:METRO) shed 1.52% or 0.010 points to 0.650.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 213 to 111 and 86 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 1.06% or 13.40 to $1251.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $40.20 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.24 to trade at $41.30 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.77% to 2.8635, while EUR/TRY rose 0.35% to 3.2276.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.32% at 95.07.
