Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL), which rose 7.00% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.070 at the close. Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) added 5.80% or 0.640 points to end at 11.680 and Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS) was up 4.83% or 5.20 points to 112.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL), which lost 7.10% or 2.06 points to trade at 26.96 in late trade. Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA) declined 6.89% or 0.440 points to end at 5.950 and Trakya Cam Sanayi AS (IS:TRKCM) shed 5.00% or 0.220 points to 4.180.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 196 to 155 and 57 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.43% or 5.30 to $1218.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.70% or 1.17 to hit $67.59 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.25% or 1.67 to trade at $72.54 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.48% to 4.9862, while EUR/TRY rose 1.19% to 5.8172.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 94.47.
