Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity, Information Services and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Pec (TW:4916), which rose 10.00% or 1.70 points to trade at 18.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Hsin Yung Chie (TW:2114) added 10.00% or 7.40 points to end at 81.40 and Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418) was up 10.00% or 0.40 points to 4.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Y.C.C. (TW:1339), which fell 9.38% or 7.10 points to trade at 68.60 at the close. Kpt Industries (TW:1805) declined 4.60% or 0.41 points to end at 8.50 and Tpk Holding (TW:3673) was down 4.06% or 3.60 points to 85.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 573 to 270 and 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in Y.C.C. (TW:1339) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.38% or 7.10 to 68.60.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.31% or 0.61 to $46.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.94% or 0.46 to hit $48.46 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1133.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.78% to 32.675, while TWD/CNY fell 0.15% to 0.1932.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 96.17.
