Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Information Services and Chemical/Bio & Medical care sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.04% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Syscom Compute (TW:2453), which rose 9.95% or 1.10 points to trade at 12.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Asia Plastic (TW:1337) added 9.95% or 2.00 points to end at 22.10 and Onano (TW:6405) was up 9.91% or 2.15 points to 23.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165), which fell 7.03% or 0.90 points to trade at 11.90 at the close. Lung Hwa Eltrs (TW:2424) declined 6.10% or 1.95 points to end at 30.00 and Chien Shing Ss (TW:2025) was down 6.02% or 0.21 points to 3.28.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 480 to 358 and 1 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.42% or 0.66 to $47.04 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.10% or 0.55 to hit $50.27 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.83% or 9.90 to trade at $1177.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.98% to 32.290, while TWD/CNY rose 0.25% to 0.1975.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 94.42.
