Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.43% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Shin Tai Ind (TW:1235), which rose 9.82% or 2.75 points to trade at 30.75 at the close. Tai-I (TW:1613) added 9.73% or 0.320 points to end at 3.610 and Taiwan Paiho (TW:9938) was up 7.14% or 6.90 points to 103.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fulgent Sun (TW:9802), which lost 9.95% or 6.30 points to trade at 57.00 in late trade. Nuvoton (TW:4919) declined 8.43% or 3.40 points to end at 36.95 and Hsin Ba Ba (TW:9906) shed 6.91% or 1.25 points to 16.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 397 to 334 and 116 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.67% or 0.30 to $45.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.38% or 0.18 to hit $47.28 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.06% or 0.85 to trade at $1324.55 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.05% to 31.719, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2103.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 95.52.
